The former personal attorney for Donald Trump has stepped down as the chief federal prosecutor in the state. This decision was prompted by a judicial decision that questioned her legal standing to hold the office.

Attorney General's Statement

US Attorney General, Pam Bondi, accepted Habba's resignation on Monday. She commented that the judicial decision made it unworkable for Habba to lead the department effectively.

"But do not mistake following the order as giving up," Habba stated. "This battle will now stretch across America."

Judicial Challenge

The departure was triggered by a federal appellate panel found that she had been serving in violation of the law as the federal prosecutor. This judgment is could influence numerous prosecutions in the Garden State.

The judicial panel declared that a acting appointment that did not receive confirmation by the US Senate ran afoul of the statute on vacant positions.
